Visiting the Club Where can I smoke?

There is a smoking area located in an outdoor smokers terrace on the ground floor and also balconies upstairs available during functions.

I am a member of another Servicemen's or RSL Club, can I sign a guest in?

Only members of Club on East are permitted to sign guests in. Reciprocal membership entitles the holder of such membership access to Club on East but not the ability to sign others in.

I live inside the 5km area, do I need to become a member?

In short, yes you will need to become a member. Everyone over the age of 18 years living within the 5 km radius is required to become a member to enter the club. There are however, various exceptions as follows: 1. You are a full member of another Servicemen's/RSL Club that is registered under the Registered Clubs Act.
2. You are a guest of a Club on East full member and have been signed in by that member.
3. Attending a function at Club on East and do not intend to use other club facilities.

How do I know if I live within 5kms of the club?

As a general rule, residents of Sutherland, Como, Jannali, Kareela, Sylvania, Gymea, Gymea Bay, Kirrawee, Grays Point, Loftus, Yarrawarrah, North Engadine, Woronora Heights, Woronora, Bonnet Bay, Illawong, Bangor, Menai all fall within the 5km radius of the club.

What is the 5km radius?

Sutherland United Services Club T/as Club on East is a Registered Club, and as such operates under the Registered Clubs Act. Part of this Act requires all patrons who reside within a designated 5km radius of Club on East, to become members if they wish to use club facilities. If you reside within this radius and wish not to become a member, you must be in the presence of a Club on East member when utilising our facilities.

Are hats permitted in the club?

Under most circumstances hats are not to be worn in the club by children or gentlemen. Ladies dress hats may be worn. Special medical circumstances may be discussed with management.

Are rubber thongs permitted in the club?

No, you are not permitted to wear rubber thongs in the Club, you will be asked to change your footwear or vacate the club premise due to OH&S.

What happens if I lose or damage my membership card?

If you have lost your membership card inside the Club, it will be handed in and filed at Cashier. However, if you have lost or damaged your card elsewhere, you can visit reception and have a new card printed. A nominal fee applies to reprint the card.

When do my bonus points expire?

All bonus points expire on the 30th June each year. We advise all members to ensure they redeem all points before this date or risk losing them.

When do I need to renew my membership?

The Club's membership runs by the date indicated in black on the front of your card. When time to renew your membership, you will need to visit Club Reception between operating hours to renew within 3 months. If you are unable to come into the Club for any reason, you can also renew your membership by mail with a cheque, or a friend or family member is also able to renew it for you.

How do I become a member?

To become a member, you need to fill out an application form at reception. Once you have completed all of the information on the application form, Reception will take your photo and process the form. You will be issued with your membership card on the spot, and you are able to sign in guests straight away.

Are children welcome at the club?

Yes. Children under 18 years are welcome to visit the Brasserie section of the Club, and functions rooms for an event. Please note that children must be supervised at all times by a Responsible Adult, they are not permitted in the restricted areas of the Club and are not able to approach any bar. A Responsible Adult includes a Parent, Guardian or Grandparent. Exceptions may be an older relative, however management must be consulted prior to entry into the Club.

I am interested in joining the team at Club on East, how do I go about applying for any positions vacant?

Simply visit the Employment Page of our site and take a few moments to fill out our online application form pdf and return it and your resume to the Reception Desk Staff.

Do you host 18th or 21st birthday parties at the club?

Unfortunately due to our commitment to the responsible service of alcohol policy, we do not host 18th Birthdays or 21st Birthdays at the club, so be sure to check back with us in a few years’ time.

I am a Celiac and am coming to lunch at the Brasserie on East, do you have any items suitable for me to eat?

We certainly do! All suitable menu items are clearly marked ‘GF’ however if you have any questions, simply see our friendly staff and we will do our best to assist. Our menu can be viewed on The Brasserie Page.

I have a group of 4 people wanting to come for dinner in the Brasserie on East, do we need to make a booking?

Bookings for the Brasserie on East are available for groups of 8 or more people – for smaller groups, such as yours, simply walk in and find a table. Please be advised that bookings can only be made for 12pm, 6pm and 6.30pm. We unfortunately cannot hold a table outside those time slots.

What is a 'Goods in Kind' donation?

Club on East supports organisations through discounted room hire for social functions, fundraisers, regular meetings, AGMs etc.
These discounts are subject to the approval of the Club on East CEO and Board of Directors. All applications are to be made in writing to the CEO prior to booking.
